I vow (OK beria sangat bunyinya, let's subdue it) to try to travel every year in November during my birthday week to a place I've never ventured into with friends/selected family members/acquaintance.

I did Bali last year. I plan to do Japan this year. In shaa Allah.

I have 2 plans already this year which I hope I will be able to realise. All these years, I have always believed that if I say something about a plan, or reveal it before time is due...then it will never happen.

That should stop. We humans, plan. Execution is in God's will. Just hope for the best. If He thinks its best for you to go, the time is right, the it will happen. Kun faya kun.

I've been wanting to go to Korea. Planned it last year. Didn't happen. He may said, not yet.
Takpe, the time will come.

I need to be brave if I want to materialise that plan to go backpacking to a few countries. So I will be brave.
I will start by listing the countries/places I plan to visit in 2014 & 2015 in my blog. Even if Im paranoid about jinxing it.

Allah knows best. If it's right for me, I will be there. With His blessings.
If I accidentally meet Taecyen without bodyguards, I will go up to him (with weak knees) and nicely tell him.
"HI Taecyeon, I'm Hani from Malaysia. Sorry to bother you but can we please have some pictures together? Please bear with me. One picture will not be enough. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity."
And because my mukadimah is too long, he'll say yes. I'm gonna make sure i have more than enough couple shots with him. And then leave.
Please excuse me, just need to get that out of the system.
Tak tahu lah kot kot sebab Miss Ad merayap ke sana, jadi I pun mimpi ke Istanbul. Konon-konon macam pernah pergi sna je nak mimpi travel ke Istanbul. But I had the nicest dream!

It started off at a work related party, and then entah macamane sampai ke dessert like/cold, rocky mountain area with a group of friends and Juna. Macam biasalah, context Juna di sini adalah dream guy. Hahahah literally dream guy. It was nice. I had a big haversack, dressed warmly and his fingers entwined with mine. I'm pretty sure he's my spouse because I felt right, no guilt when we touch.

And then I was in a train, beli Ricola flavour peach. Dalam train ada macam kiosk okay! And time tu I was with Ya. Masa sibuk cari loose change in my gajah coin purse, we arrived at our station. Since I'm still fiddling for money, I asked Ya to put my haversack at the door to block it from closing. Funny lah!

But it was a really nice dream that left me with warm fuzzy feeling. There was Juna, Ya, and a gang of friends who travelled with me. Which means they are the people that I'm comfortable to be with. Oh travel...BESTNYA!

Pastu bangun pagi tadi tengok-tengok I got 3 dots on my right hand and 1 on my left knuckle. Kena gigit semut. Fail!
I'm not really a control freak but I am a planner. Most of the time friends will point at me to organise outings sampai I get annoyed. Kadang-kadang je lah. Rest of the time, I'll gladly do it. So that I get things to go my way. Ehem!

Recently, a lot of people around me got married. Mostly girls. (Tak, I tak terasa. Okay....sikit je.) Some of them had hen night or bachelorette party before they got sealed for life to their husband. I guess that's the last time boleh sakan enjoy with girlfriends. Being the over-excited person that I am and because I simply want to do it, I dah start planning my own night! But then I want it to be a sleepover thing or a brunch thing. Or both. Aha!

I have friends from different cliques because I have had bad experience in primary school. I remember being a loner because I don't belong. So when I found people who likes being friends with me, I hold on to them. Remember the saying? Choose the person who loves you more than you love him. I use that in friendships as well. Setakat ni, Im glad with the friends I have. We got our fair share of dramas but we're girls. It comes with the package!

Is there a limitation of how many people we can have for a bachelorette party? I akan mengamalkan concept, the more the merrier. These people must be there! I would really love to have all of them jumbled up together, mix and mingle. They must know they're all equally important to me. (Take note whoever that's going to plan it. I wanna have it, so please plan it when the time comes!)

Itupun dah lebih 30. There are some others that I did not include in. Because inviting one will cause chain reaction. Which means I will have to invite another, and another, and another. Until all are invited. But I dont think this is their thing. Maybe 2 of them can fit in. Cheh! Aku risau macam planning betul2 je. Nak menyampai hari kejadian pun taktau lah dah berapa ramai yang fall out.

Theme: The morning after (that's why its gonna be a brunch)
Dresscode: Your man's shirt (preferably white collared man's shirt but his jersey or tshirt will be fine as well!)

Seriously, I got the whole list of activities and semua dah. Tapi cam melampau pulak tulis kan. Whatever happens shall remain a secret. So instead, Imma drop some pictures of how you can wear the boyfriend shirt. Because I think girls are sexiest when they're wearing that crisp, white, collared shirt. And there's so many variations! Wear it with nothing, with leggings, with fishnets, miniskirt, over a tshirt, tie it, cut the sleeves out, tuck it in, put on a see through one, wear it over a dress, acessories to accompany it. Options aren't limited!

I think I am ready to talk about a few things I've kept hidden from people. See, I'm not the sort who keeps things from people I'm close to. I'm not secretive, but I'm not exactly a blurter too. I like to share myself to people so that in return they will open up and share themselves too. Its not to make myself vulnerable but to narrow the existing gap.

Back in 2010 after diploma ended, my parents and I planned to send me to New Zealand for my degree. I've always wanted to go back to New Zealand and coming back as a student will be a great opportunity. But after consultation, we agreed that NZ is not the best option. So we applied to Monash and UniSA in Australia instead. The former in Gippsland near Melbourne and the latter in Adelaide. (I had to check my offer letter because I forgot where I was offered. FAIL!) And I got accepted to both! Alhamdulillah.

After credit exemptions from my diploma, Monash offered me 1.5 years of studies for Bachelor of Arts (Professional Communication) with annual fees of AUD 21,000. While UniSA offered 2 years for their Bachelor of Arts (Communication and Media) programme with annual fee of ...... Since Monash is better ranked, we opted to go to Monash.

Money doesn't come easy for us. Because of that, I applied for the intake in February 2011 instead of going for the July 2010 intake (I graduated diploma on May 2010). We thought that we can buy time and try getting scholarships or study loan to fund my studies. Lets face it, the fees is already expensive as it is. And currently AUD $1 is equivalent to RM3.50, which made it even more expensive. Furthermore, there's not many organization that's willing to give out scholarships for programmes abroad. What more in the Communication field. Eventhough the source is limited, I did try. We tried. I applied for Maxis, Khazanah and MAHB. I didn't get the chance to apply from Astro though because it was not open. Still is not open.

My offer expires on 31st May. Its already 9th May. And I didn't get any good feedbacks. So I guess this is it. Surprisingly for something I really wanted for the past 1 year, I'm not crushed. I don't feel sad at all. Im feeling alright. I know there must be something that Allah has replace it with. I got a good guess of what those things are, but I'm not sure if my guesses is right. But where I am right now, I feel that my guesses is right. They give me the right feeling, right vibes, they're just right.

I told Mama and Kak Ngah, if I am able to go to Australia for my degree then my studies shall stop at that level. I'll focus on work and building a family next. But if the opportunity is not there, then I'll try it again at Masters level. I guess Allah wants me to work harder, to try harder. And so shall it be.

There's a lot of family members who are rooting for me to fly off. So many of them who share my happiness when the chance arises, so many who were proud with the news, so many who put hopes on me. I regret that all that can no longer be expectations of any. But I'm so glad that I'll be around. I will be here for gatherings, for Hari Raya, for family days, for birthdays, for weekends in Semenyih with Toto and Neni, for Feed Me Weekends with cousins who mostly are marrying off. For weddings, for Adik, for Abah and Mama, for makan-makan, for Ramadhan in Malaysia, and for people who want me around. I'm thankful that I can and will be able to join in. Not just see it get updated on Twitter or FB.

As for my other family, my friends... I'll still be around. USM was actually my Plan B. A place I will fall back to if the OZ plan did not fall through. So now, USM is my only plan. And I only have a year left there so I shall persevere the heat and the stress! The only 3 person I actually told about leaving for Australia was Yonkey, Tangsue, and Lii Jing. Yonkey seems fine with it. As for Tangsue and Lii Jing, they both got teary-eyed. And I was too. Because I didn't expect them to care for me THAT much. And because I am emotional. Seriously, I cry almost everyday from watching TV adverts, scenes from reality shows, and from reading. Parah weh!

Anyway! Penang is different after a year being there. I use to say I like the place, but hated the people there. I wanted to leave, I really hated it! But Alhamdulillah, I finally found people I am at ease with. Friends I greatly appreciate for being there for me, for sharing, for putting up with me, for trying to understand me, for adapting to me. Thank you Yonkey, Tangsue, Grobe, Diamond, Mini, Lii Jing, Kimi, KIKI, Mas, Awek, Cip, Syafiq, Pumpum, Ciara, Muncheekins, Ain and Fly. Oh! And Dr. Shu and Dr. Zailan and Dr. Hazlina. For giving me hope that not all lecturers are uptight and old fashion. InsyaAllah I will not have to go through what nearly killed my faith on friendship in Unisel. I have high hopes for my 'race-less' friends. =)

Wanting to go to Australia was a really big deal. But I didn't set high hopes. I taught myself not to expect to much. In love and in life. Being a realist, I take into consideration of everything. Such as the RM 16k I owe PTPTN, the nearly RM 100k needed for 2 years there (that we can't afford), my grandaunts and granduncles yang dah tak sihat sangat dah, my expanding family that I don't want to miss out on, and other things yang tak perlu mention. The point is, I need to be here. No matter how much I want to be in Australia, its not written for me. Not right now. And yes, I want to be here.

Of late, I ajar diri sendiri untuk see the outcome of something as positive either way. I may not get what I want, but I make sure I am grateful of the outcome. Jangan expect, jangan berharap, bila kita tak beria-ria kita tak sakit. Dan kita bersyukur dengan apa-apa yang jadi.
Macam dengan he-who-I-really-liked-but-can't-seem-to-attract, tak menjadi. Tak apa, Alhamdulillah. Mungkin bukan dia.
Macam dengan dia-yang seperti-boleh-tapi-rupanya-tidak. Tak apa, Alhamdulillah. Memang bukan dia.
Macam dengan Z yang chipsmore, Tak apa. Belum rezeki. Ehe! (Apasal kau lain sikit?)

Dan khas buat seorang yang sebenarnya memang tak benarkan saya pergi,
Toto, I'm staying.

I still have my last paper tomorrow, Falsafah Islam. But I don't have any interest what so ever to cramp details about the history of Islamic philosophy, the scholars, the pioneers, Avicenna, Averroes, Suhrawardi, Mulla Sadra, no heart at all. I should be overjoyed to be surrounded by all this intellectual men. But my head and heart already decided to focus on the biggest F word that define me, Family.

I will go back to KL tomorrow, at exactly 1.55pm by flight. And I will arrive at the airport at 2.55pm. Maybe earlier because they are usually early anyways. Lya will pick me up, send me to the nearest train station, and I'll be back in KL by evening. Then, I'll start my journey to Kuantan with Abang E and meet more family members. I will then switch off my phone for the next 3 days.

Our family will be gathering at Balok Seaview Resot for our annual ABCB Family Day. Its family time! Can't wait to enjoy the company of many, laugh out loud, mini heart to heart sessions and most of all, PIRANHA feeding time! And I need to prepare myself getting told off, being bossed around and being the runner/babysitter/kuli/assistant/loudspeaker/photographer. Multi tasking righttt!

But right now, I'm sad. The only thing that keeps me going is the thought of being with my extended family. And the hope that this thing that is going on right now, will pass quickly. I hope it will. I don't know how to fix it. I don't know anymore. It wasn't like this before. Now its as if, there's no 'care' to try amending it.

But I still care. Or else I won't feel as if something is eating me up inside.
I'm not good with comforting words. I'm the sort that say things straight to the point.
When there's no words to speak, I'll just keep quiet.
Because I am emotional. I can cry or burst out my anger when I try to speak.

I'm not good at keeping my emotions to myself.
Its shown on the face.
I'm sad, I'm happy, I'm bored, my angst,
I can't hide it.

Suffian Mikhail left us.
We only have Nur Dhania now.
I do not want to expect, but hoping for Allah to give a chance of survival for her.
A chance for her to be with us.
InsyaAllah.
There's a list of characteristic, or behaviour I've written. Some of it are these:
  • Someone who is there for me - come rain, come shine.
  • A person who has a temper, but only I can sooth it.
  • A nameless relationship, something only we know.
  • One who understands me, and vice versa.
  • Always can carry a great conversation
  • Makes me happy, by just being there.
  • Rajin bawak pergi makan and enjoy eating too
  • Can make me feel insecure, defensive because he's better than me.
  • Gets along really well with my friends and family

I pernah dapat semua ni. At different time in life. I just nak cakap, apa-apa kita mintak mesti Tuhan akan bagi. Tak semestinya dan dan tu. Dia tak pernah katakan tidak. Selain Ya, Dia akan cakap bukan sekarang, atau berikan pada kita dengan cara lain. To remind us, what we want might not exactly be what we need.

I have a friend who kept saying he wants to die. Tak sanggup nak lalui macam-macam benda yang jadi. Asyik mintak mati. Dia dapat apa dia nak. Tapi bukan dia yang mati, satu-satu orang keliling dia pergi. No joke! I told him, bersebab semua tu jadi. God have bigger plans for you. That's why He gave what you wanted but not how you wanted it.

Mintak lah apa-apa. For sure dapat. Kadang-kadang lambat, sebab belum sampai masa untuk terima. Kadang-kadang lain jadinya, untuk beritahu bukan itu yang sesuai untuk kita. Yang pasti, memang ada cara kita akan terima juga. There's always a silver lining if it doesn't go your way. Remember that.

One more thing boys and girls, appreciate! Sementara ada orang atau perkara yang kita rasa tak mahu, tapi sebenarnya perlu. Kadang-kadang kita tak nampak perkara yang kita perlu, kita cuma nampak benda-benda yang kita nak. In the end, its not what we wanted that counts, its what we needed. And He knows it best!

I kena tukar preference lah.
Channel my interest to the type of people yang others don't like.
Always, it will be the one everyone has eyes for.
Tak extraordinary langsung I ni. Need to be unconventional.

Tapi yang others don't like tu sah-sah for concrete reasons kan?
Pervert. Lame. Literal stalker. Annoying. Abuser. Dumb.
Lagiiiiiilah not the type for me.

My uncle, Achik K'ry once said "Find someone smarter than you"
I don't see myself as smart. Not Sheldon smart. But I do read a lot. So that can account to be said as acknowledgeable, I guess. I secretly hold on to that because I do believe I need to feel insecure with the other half. He has to be better so that I can't be superior. I should not be the one wearing the pants.

Susah okay to find smart guys but normal at the same time.
No no robots please.
But tall, thin, dark hair, fair skin guys are always welcomed!

Motif sekarang baru nak tulis camni?
Sebab rasa yang ada dah pergi =)

Okay now isu berhijab. Kawan-kawan I super awesome okay! In chronological order:

Last week, I went out for a sushi lunch with friends. Tengah-tengah makan, one of them pointed out that I was covering my head but wearing a short sleeve shirt. Terus I insecure because I usually will wear a cardigan over my short sleeve shirts, but had rushed and forgotten about it. Thanks! Its a reminder for myself. I love you for being blunt and straight forward about it. =)

Few days back through YM, another friend hesitantly asked if I am still wearing hijab? I said yes. And she asked again, "even in KL?" Of course I do! Turns out she saw the recently uploaded pictures from last year and before Eid. Times when I have not made my transition and assumed I only cover my hair in Penang. Thank you for your concern. InsyaAllah this is for the long haul.

And today, my bestfriend shot me through twitter. "Mana tudung kau?" Fine lah! I changed the display pic to the one sans tudung. Old picture. Memang cari bahana sendiri. Sayang kau!
Eat.Pray.Love.
Im not gonna post up spoilers here, ramai pulak benci aku nanti kan? Semalam kat twitter dah kene complain sebab banyak sangat details movie Magika and Revenge of King Cobra. Jadi, yang ni takkan dikeluarkan langsung.

Except, how I plan my to live my life in 3 places doing 3 main activities just like Julia/Liz did.

Eat
I can't decide where to spend 3-4 months for the main purpose of eating. People choose Rome or France usually because of their wine, I'm not interested and I can't. Japan makanan mentah. Memang suka, tapi lama-lama hambar lah kan. Oh oh!!! Korea! I've been watching 2days 1night for so long. Beautiful place. The food looks good! Mostly seafood and Korean have spicy food too. I can survive there. Plus there's KPop and entertaining game shows. Ohhh KHJ too! Saranghae!

Pray
Obviously as a Muslim, I nak jadi Tetamu Allah juga. 4 months, mungkin tak cukup. But I would really love to experience the serenity, the calmness, the heat, the feeling of being blessed. I want it all. I feel jealous of my friends and relatives who have had the chance to go there. Makkah and Madinah, our holy city. I'll visit you. InsyaAllah.

Love
To love, find love, be in love, or celebrate love, I want to go to Greece. The place where the term philo or love begins. I wasn't a fan of Greece before. Until I saw Kak Iziana's honeymoon pictures. And then watch the magnificent view through Sisterhood of Travelling Pants. Sigh! Awesomenyaaaa! 4 months there please!

How can you not want to live in Greece? Hari-hari boleh cliff diving!

I'll wait for you to notice.
Since I now know what it was (I think), I can finally tell you the story.

2 days back, a guy who is working on the same project as I am touched me. Not the indecent touch. It was an appreciation pat on my shoulder but I felt as if current got through to my body from his touch.

I don't know if its because I've been reading too much Malay novels or because I am a hopeless romantic or because it really is what I thought it was. You know from books or movies, when 2 people meet and have physical contact which brings electric vibe or tingling sensation, or that punch in the gut feeling it means they are soul mate of some sort? I thought the touch was that.
Or it might be because I cringed when he touched me. I am seen as the type that wouldn't mind being touch, or hug by guys. But I really don't like it. Its okay if i touch them, but not them touching me. Yeah, bias, whatever. That's my hypocrisy.

Anyways, just now was an event which both he and I attended and we had physical contact again. He was pushing me away from being in the same picture as he is (sad, I know) and I felt nothing.

Therefore, the touch is theory 2!
Sebab I have a shoe fetish, and kaki jenis kembang...this will work well for me!

Its called Vibram FiveFingers based in USA (where else?) Retailed at USD 85 and above. Made for comport of running as you will feel as if you are barefoot but still protecte from dirt. Hmmph! kalau ada ni I akan rajin pergi jogging. (dan dan je kan?)
I have always loved Penang due to the pre war colonial buildings scattered everywhere. Some are incorporated in the modern timeline too. I've seen McDonald's and KFC outlet in a colonial building as well as banks and offices and also a really spacious compound for Wawasan Open University which remind me of my old school BBGS.

One day, when I have enough money and daring enough, I will buy one of the buildings and call it home. Its despairing to see some of them not in a good condition, with broken windows and roofs and faded walls. But I still see the beauty in them. I know their glory can be restored if someone wants to make an effort to repair it.

Luckily, some people see all that - actually did it! Sad to say, those who did are not the local Penang-ites or Malaysian.

The Straits Collection Project is the brainchild and owned by an Australian who have lived in Malaysia for 24 years, Narelle McMurtrie.

The Straits Collection is located at Steward Lane and Armenian Street which offers 5 buildings for the purpose of residence, retail and restaurants. It is really really pretty! I imagined getting sucked in into the 1920s just by standing there. My words wont do justice! Just clicked on the name and see for yourself!

Hmm..m holiday destination maybe! But since its a boutique hotel, I must be prepared of the hefty price! At RM400 per night, that will be the setback, but Im sure the experience will be splendid!

The other place I want to share is Soul Kitchen owned by Malaysian-German couple Michelle and Tonio. They fell in love with the place last year and decided to have it as their home and restaurant. I want to that too!!! Not making my home a restaurant because I cant cook to save myself, to live in the first floor of an old Chinese/Colonial building and have the lower part of the place made as a boutique or a cafe. Like Bookends! Sigh.
Semalam baca novel Melayu. Tengok title pun tau poyo habis. I think the writer suck with her stupid corny lines.

Until, the main guy serenade the girl with lagu Jatuh by Adam.

Lepas tu I jadi stress.

Nak jugak...

I DAH HOMESICK!!!

Day 9 at USM, Penang. I dah start missing home. I love the place, I'm warming up to the people but the grass is ALWAYS greener on the other side. Today is the first night without any activity, therefore sorrow succumbs me.

I miss Abah and Mama and listening to Sinar Pagi with them in the car every morning on our way to KL.

I miss being kicked by Adik. I miss his snores at night. I miss his smell.

I miss Feed Me weekends with Abang E, Kak Anum, Abang Ayis, Bobo, Kak Sha, Arwen.

I miss laughing out loud, really loud with Ya, Hani and Syaniz.

I miss going to Kak Long's house and be amongst the noise and little fights of Nurin, Hakim, Iki, Izzat and Nana.

I miss Toto and Neni. I have them in my mind and my heart. And their message in my inbox. Which I'm not reading again because I'll tear up. Again.

I miss hanging out with Lya. We are stupid.

I miss Millie. Sampai sekarang tak dapat spend quality time lagi.

I miss Nana, and her desire for a boob job.

I miss my kakak-kakak, Puan Azian, Miss Ad, Puan Gina.

Believe it or not, I miss UNISEL. The life I had there. The lives I've encountered there.
The good stuff, the bad stuff, the shit that happened. I miss it all.

I'm no longer the big fish in the pond.
I'm no longer surrounded by the ones who love me.
I'm away. I'm far way. I want to be home.
And my playlist is not helping. At all.

I pulak bukan jenis who calls all the time. Tak tahu nak cakap apa. The one dearest to me, yang tu yang paling susah for me to have phone conversations with. Abah, Mama, Toto, Neni, the one I am missing the most. The ones I have nothing to talk about and everything to talk to.

Susah jugak kalau selama ni dah terbiasa hardcore, independent. I don't know how to attend to myself. Siapa yang baca ni..call lah I. Message pun takpe.

* Untuk tatapan umum
Last post I listed the criteria for new blood. By new blood you all know lah what I mean. And I got a comment saying I shouldn't be choosy. I'm sorry but I strongly disagree.

I ni memilih kalau nak berkawan, memang I senang mesra tapi I cerewet nak allow people to get close to me. Andre pernah cakap orang yang lelangit timbul jinak-jinak merpati. Meaning, orangnya nampak mesra dan senang rapat tapi belum tentu dapat. Mungkin coincidence tapi ada betulnya jugak.

I tak ada langsung kawan lelaki yang I kenal sendiri. Kecuali seorang tapi dah lost contact, therefore tak kira. Semua kawan-kawan lelaki I akan kenal melalui orang lain atau perantara. I terlalu sceptical. I assume people want to get close to me for a reason (Ni soalan dalam test USM by the way).

Kalau orang add I dalam Facebook pun I akan approve yang memang kenal real life sahaja. Kalau ada acquaintance yang I've heard of pun I akan fikir dua kali dulu nak approve ke tak. Ada juga special cases macam bloggers I read or friends of friends. Latest ni ada a girl added me, her name seems familiar but I can't recall. Until I see our mutual friends. Let's just say she is someone related to my past. I akan add orang I tak kenal sebab nak stalk that person, so I assume its the same thing for her. Jadi sekarang tengah fikirkan nak approve dia so that I can stalk her ke tak? Ishk! Twisted jugak otak aku nih.

The point is, kalau cyber friends I dah selective apetah lagi for someone I want to be with the rest of my life. Thus, the list! Bukannya nak terus reject kalau orang tu ada criteria yang tak dikehendaki, cumanya I need a breath of fresh air. It would be nice to meet someone new and I don't immediately list him under platonic.

Self reminder: Menolak sangat pun tak boleh jugak, nanti itu yang dapat.

Chup! Mungkin I patut list down criteria Z sebagai list reject. It might work! Heh heh heh!
I need new blood. True blood *wink* The guys I have in my life are either:

Taken;
Taken but flirting around;
A big flirt;
Using me to get girls;
using me for my brains;
strictly friends;
friend's boyfriends;
friend's ex-boyfriends;
boozer/stoner;
performer;
not smart enough;
not mature enough;
not husband-to-be material;
not interested.

Recommendation with criteria other than listed please?

Strictly NO MUSICIANS. Had enough of those. If 4 is not many, I don't know what is.
Dear Z,

Im going to let my best friends piss off, Im going to allow my close cousins roll their eyes, Im going to make my housemates smirk with their lopsided smile, best of all, Im going to let you know.

I've always thought its going to be you. I want it to be you. I still do.
But the rest is all up to you.

Here's to you. Maybe you can learn and serenade with this just like you did with Banana Pancakes?

[Oh oh! Remy kan R so tak boleh masuk J Fetish but he's actually a Z! Zalimie/Zalimei Ishak, Ill get the spelling right.]
