Ever since I started working, gone are the time I spent on Twitter, Running Man and blog hopping. On most days I go to work at 7.30 and leave well after 5.30. Some days I feel so demotivated I dont want to come back, but also on the same day, something nice happens and I see myself returning there. Its my second month already. Can you believe it?! Im giving this place a chance for a bit more. You know office politics are everywhere so I just dismiss that. People here are nice and friendly. And one particular person is so highly motivated that Im partly scared and partly admiring his qualities. Okay enough. Lets share some raya pictures!

This year is the turn to celebrate in White House, Pekan, Pahang. 80 plus family members all bundled in one house! Havoc! As always, the morning of Eid will be a problematic day for all of us. There's not enough water for everyone to bathe. So this year my uncles installed a new pumping system. Everything was fine and dandy.....until the very morning itself. Alas! Still no water! So all the males in the family went to the mosque to shower and even there they had to compete with each other so that they can get ready early for Eid prayers.

All is good this year. I managed to give all my cousins duit raya. First salary for the family! InsyaAllah in future I can give more to more people.
'

By the way, I still receive duit raya! Heh heh heh. Pictures below are from the many open houses and gathering I attended.

Oooops! The last picture is for another post ;)
Macam tajuk drama tak? We had our Hari Raya at Kajang this year, tapi family members tak ramai ada. So we scheduled to have a gathering and photo session on Sunday, the 6th day of Syawal. Dah kata nak bergambar kan? Jadinya, SAKAN!

So I decided to blog in the office again. Sebab no one is in! Planned to watch Showdown episode semalam or plan my wedding. Motif? Sebab 3 orang cousins kahwin. So teringin gak. Eleh! saja bagi alasan padahal teringin tu selalu ada dah. Banyak bebel? Onto the next agenda!

Friends
I've decided to make time only for those who seek me. I penat lah make effort untuk orang tapi orang macam buat bodoh je. Biar orang pulak buat effort. Kalau nak jumpa, datang. Ajak biar ikhlas. Jangan tunggu dah kena cancel baru nak mencari. I bengang asyik kena jadi planner tiap kali nak keluar lepak or outings. I like impulsive trips. Masuk kereta, jalan. We'll end up mana-mana suka hati je. Let the road lead us. To some of them I'm pulling a Mu _____(insert name here, you all know it)_____. I feel bad, but I need to do it. I'm all negative vibes right now. Don't want to spread it.

So far loving my company. Emon and our weekly makan trips. Waiting for Paden and Jaja to be in KL. Looking forward to see Milly and Nana who finished their degree but not necessarily back for good. Dida and Lya. Ema and our plans yang asyik tak menjadi. Sherry in the list. Erin and Kiwie and the usual spot at Erin's parents' stall. Expecting Kimi sometime next week. Lii Jing who said she'll come down to KL. Or maybe I'm going to Ipoh to see her!

Family
Family is fine. Great even. We have our occasional fever/flu attacking various family members but we all are in good health. My second brother, Abang E got married last weekend. Truckloads of family members came down from Kuantan. Not a good combo with PMS. But surrounded by family is always lovely. Feed Me Weekends still goes on. The gang changes but the main objective is still accomplished!

Next weekend will head back to our White House, Pekan, Pahang for Kak Angelina's wedding. And the other weekend for Abang E's lilac wedding! Tak sabar tengok semua orang melaram! On the Kajang side, news arrived in the form of excitement and a slice of sentap for me. My cousin, can't name who yet, is ready to get hitched! Terkejut. Tak sangka. Gumbira, sedih, segan pun ada! I wish for the best. Yang pasti I'm gonna sebok ikot dia shopping hantaran!

Food
I don't know when it happened but I suspect it started masa berurut sekali tu. Salah urut kot. Then I start burping like crazy all day each day. Especially kalau tak makan. Macam dah masuk angin. Kadang-kadang sampai rasa nak termuntah sebab angin tak keluar. Kadang-kadang memang muntah. Contohnya bila makan lewat, dah masuk angin. Burp beria-ria. And then whatever I eat afterwards will keluar balik where it went it. I'm an involuntary bullimic. Kesian tak? Sedih kot. Duit bazir, makanan pun bazir. Tapi sejak dah cuba memahami sistem penghadaman dan penyahtinjaan badan ni, dah okey sikit. Insya Allah. Risau bulan puasa nanti je.

In the past month I've had good food, occasionally expensive food, and food I've craved. Macaroons from Levain. Beef rasher sandwich and cuppacakes from +wondermilk. Teppayaki. Sandwich from Meatworks. Durian pancake. Breakfast at Tanglin. Breakfast ayam goreng crunchy. Thurkah's Banana leaf rice. Nirwana banana leaf rice. Crabmeat fried rice from Quan's. Dessert from Delicious. Duck rice from Pavilion. Oyster omelette from Pavilion. Carl's Jr. Chilli cheese fries. Nasi daging merah Ulu Klang. Meggi Bandung bapak Erin yang sedap MAX! Mustafa Jones burger, steak and chicken wings. Cheesecakes!

Still craving for Buffalo wings from Chillis. Abah's nasi goreng hijau. Masakan kat Semenyih. I miss eating home cooked food. =( Tak untung mana pun kerja kat Mid Valley.

Fun
Yang ni je I semangat nak cerita.

I plan to go to Singapore after internship. Takde kaki pun takpelah. Aku cari jugak. Dapat sorang cukup. Pegang jangan kasi lepas. And there is another plan yang rasanya Abah mungkin tak bagi Tapi cuba jelah. Cambodia trip with Emon in Feb 2011. Celah mana lah nak kumpul duit tu kan? Lepas internship habis, rasa macam nak bazir duit. Rasa nak pergi Ipoh naik kereta api. Teringin!

Dalam masa terdekat ni duit mungkin akan dibazirkan main laser tags with cousins or ex-schoolmates. And Emon and I gonna be doing something adventurous soon! Wait for it! It's gonna be Legendary!

Few months back they excite us with the news that they're expecting twins. Then they told us the twins will be a boy and a girl. And then,  yesterday, they shocked us. The babies decided to see the world earlier than expected, by 3 whole months! Kak Aishah had C-Section, and the boy came out first before the girl. Babies are in ICU because they're premature and are really small. Im praying for strength and health for both mummy and babies. As for Angah, praying he will not be gelabah. Keep calm and be cool. You're a dad! Surreal. Congratulations Angah and Kak Aishah! Babies, Wawa can't wait to see you!

18 March 2011

After years of making us play the guessing game, Acu (Abah's youngest brother) finally got married this morning! I really wish I'm there instead of here in Penang. Acu and Mak Cu (adjustment needed to get use to this term. Good adjustment!) I wish you both the best in life and a blessed marriage. I'm really sorry I was not at your nikah to share the happiness and joy. Fret not, I'm still celebrating your day right here in Penang. Thank you Kak Lang and Kak Uda for sending me the pictures. Still, I wish I'm there amongst all of you.

Twins and Mak Cu,
WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!
Hello! my numbered list is back! Today it will all be all things sweet. Not just the taste, but the thought and the sentiments that brought smiles.
  1. Are you sweet? Yes I am! For the people I care, I'll express it. For the people I have feelings for, I suppress it.
  2. The sweetest candy bar: Cadbury's white chocolate 4wend 4eva. Its sooooo sweet that I had to nibble it little by little. But really really nice too. And the whole memory of that snack is sweet as well. Imran brought it back from South Africa for me. And the name of it is cute as hell. 4wends 4eva!
  3. Sweetest dessert: Can't decide. I'm a sweet tooth, but I have yet to try the macaroons that they say is too sweet.
  4. Sweetest random moment: Last Wednesday. Mas & I had an impromptu run to Sushi King for Salmon Nishoku.
  5. Sweetest school memory: Sharing nasi goreng brought from home with the whole class. That wins hands down!

  6. Sweetest degree memory: PERKOM's Cahaya Ramadhan. That's how I came to love you people.

  7. Sweetest advice: "Jaga hati kamu elok-elok. Jangan bagi lelaki sebarangan"
  8. Sweetest act by a stranger: One time back in BBGS, due to miscommunication, no one came to pick me up from school. I was 7 or 8. I waited for Abah at the bus station until after dark and didn't remember being scared. Because the canteen workers were there accompanying me. I don't remember them. But I remember them being there and me not being scared. Thank you, whoever and where ever you are.
  9. Sweetest toddler: They don't usually like me, but Damia Qaisara, since her first day at Nuh's Ark have always cling to me. So much that all the other aunties refer me as her mummy.

  10. Sweetest, by the father: Him bringing back Edward Scissorhand's DVD from Johor for me. I got teary eyed. Credits to you Tantiey.
  11. Sweetest, by the mother: Dulu masa kecik, bila I balik rumah after I went away for some time, I would expect my parents to give me presents. Tak pernah berlaku pun. But once in a while, at the most unexpected times Mama will bring back stuff that I treasure until now. A crystal butterfly, and books with charm bracelets.
  12. Sweetest, by the brother: He doesn't have to say anything back. Whenever I talk to him, I know he understands.
  13. Sweetest phone call: Back in SA after Timah was robbed and I lost my camera, Z called. He played Edwin McCain's I'll Be on his guitar AND SANG for me. That helped.
  14. Sweetest song: Radiohead's Creep. Classic. Its so sweet in a very twisted way.
  15. Sweetest gift: My Juna, from Kak Long and Ayah Sham. Terima kasih banyak-banyak.
  16. Sweetest treasure: My big ass family.

  17. Sweetest month in my life: June 2010. Too many things to be thankful for.
  18. Sweetest trick being played on me: You. Right now. By the universe. Its bittersweet.
  19. Sweetest blog: Ini ditulis by request. Sweet like Candy

Where to start? Lets start with I thought Im gonna be a huge bimbo this raya dengan kamera P90 baru ku, dan rambut yg nampak baru sebab pergi relaxing dan baju yang asal-asal beli untuk ke Indon tapi tak jadi lalu ku pakai di pagi raya. Sadly memang tak laaahh!

For one, we were late to gather at Nenek's house in Kajang therefore Abah didn't go for solat raya which simultaneously made us forgot to salam raya with each other because we usually do that after he came back from the masjid.

No pictures, kumpul-kumpul to makan almost 7 different type of rendang as it is a potluck. Bayong buat kelakar when he asked "Who made the rendang with lots of kunyit?" Turns out it is my mum's sate goreng with lots of serai instead of kunyit. Hahaha.

House hopping begins. Tapi pun tak berapa best sebab out of Abah's 12 siblings minus 2 (one died, the other resides in Bath, England), only 5 went house-hopping with us. The other 5 can't join in. Furthermore, my married cousins went back to the spouses's side. So the convoy and the visits are not as meriah.

To top it all, I have blocked/runny nose throughout the whole day. Which result in having fever on the second day of raya. This morning I decided not to follow house-hopping sebab x larat! Kepala berat, hidung tersumbat, prut memulas, teran-teran tapi tak lepas, mata berair, rahang lenguh, tekak sakit. Lengkap lah!

Kasi settle melawat semua adik-beradik arwah nenek. First day tu dah ke rumah Tok Long, Nek Dik dan terjumpa Nek Busu, kemudian sesat barat ke rumah Tok Ngal.

Anyway, main points!
  • I love this house-hopping ritual on Kajang side because Im not close to the extended family. Its a chance to get to know them better sebab ramai!
  • Tok Long ada 13 anak. Haram sorang pun aku tak kenal except for Tok Long and Nek Ulong. Tapi descendants mereka bole differentiate through their Chinese looks and Mat Salleh look-a-likes.
  • Nek Cik punya family tak jumpa lagi. But Nek Cik really made me laugh by showing her cancerous breast they got rid off AND her other breast. Hahahahhaha!
  • Nek Alang's family biasalah. Inviting but not warm enough to be close with. I know some of her kids. Not all. She got 6, I know 4. Okay lah kan?
  • Tok Ngal's family! I love them! Walaupun jarang jumpa tapi the 3 of them Pak Long Emy, Pak Ngah Yazid and Pak Lang Syukur sangat warm. Including their wives. Plus they got little kids. Boleh melayan budak-budak. Rumah dorang tu bila dah sampai memang selesa.
  • Oh! Their house served Anam! Its a Palembang dish made from a herb called Temu Pauh. Yellow gravy with sliced chicken or fish eaten weith ketupat/mi hun/lodeh. Tak semua orang boleh terima, bagi yang boleh..its a favourite! Lupa ambik pic.
  • Nek Busu punya family i know all her 4 kids tapi macam biasalah, tak rapat. Nama cucu-cucu pun baru start hafal sebab ada majlis qiqah and khatam cucu dia haritu.
  • Tok Teh's family ku tidak beraya pada tahun ini sebab tidur kerana demam. Family ni pun tak berapa ingat who is who. Except for Pak Uda Wan sebab he used to block me behind the door when I was smaller.
  • And Nek Dik's! 3 kids, Im scared of Pak Long Mariss, okay with his wife, so-so with Pak Ngah Mahfuz and Pak Lang Yek. Sangat ngam dengan Cha! its all about the age gap and growing up together.
  • Tok Long will always be the cutest and funniest atuk. This year we showed his picture on the camera and he said "Wah kamera sekarang ni cepat betul siap cuci gambar!"
  • I love the non-traditional food we had, especially masak Lemak Siput sedut at Andak's. The house got quiet except from the sucking and chewing sound. Hahahaha!

Dengan itu, post ini diucapkan dengan ucapan Selamat Menyambut Aidilfitri. Saya tau mulut ni banyak mengata, tangan ni banyak menulis yang sepatutnya tapi hati ingin kemaafan sepenuhnya.
