Helloooo! Dah lama gilaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa tak bukak Blogger.
No wonder my hands are itching to write something.

Where to begin? Let's talk about my journey so far since graduation. It's been a year since I left Penang it seems. I don't remember which friends and I were talking about our achievements post-graduation. But what triggered it was the fact that our juniors are now venturing into the career world too.

In the past year, I have :-
  • been working for 2 companies.
  • owned 2 cars (hahaha sounds like Im making bucks huh? I wish!)
  • upgraded my phone twice (due to carelessness)
  • been labelled as spoilt, overseas graduated, Melayu perasan from a rich family with money to throw
  • Had some rowdy nights (for work okay, I'll tell you more later)
  • been blessed with positive work environment and awesome colleagues and of course cool bosses
  • attended friend's weddings, A LOT of weddings! And meet old friends again!
  • but alas, still no man in my life.
So far Im loving the place I'm working at. Our office is in an old building but they gave free parking space. Fun people, positive environment, cool bosses. Stable company, they pay well. They give yearly bonus and increment. There will be a company trip every year. And since we do trade exhibitions, I still get to meet people and get out of the office. Not as much as the old job, but just the right amount!

Here, I'm the Marketing Communications Exec. We are made up of 6 fun loving ladies, just as loud and cuckoo as I am! (If not more). I love the fact that they are so easy to accept me. Very accepting people. And so tolerating. They can layan my craziness and emotional behaviour. And they are all older than me!

Our office has a lot of parties! Not for other people (unlike there which I shouldn't directly mention), but for us! For every exhibition, we will have a teardown dinner. To celebrate the success of the show. And there's exhibitors parties held for our exhibitors during the respective shows. And because most of the staff here have been working for long long time, the company celebrate their service by organising anniversary parties! I will be attending MW's 25th year anniversary this Friday! The longest serving staff of MES  =)

There's 1 particular party I'm looking forward to. The Christmas party. Ohohoho! I've seen pictures of the previous Christmas gatherings, it looks super fun! There will be themes for people to dress up to, and the newest addition to the company will be ragged! In this case, it will be me. Itu je yang tak berapa. Nervous sikit.

Oh oh! Still about work, next week will be our evaluation week. Im scared! Never been evaluated before. This will be my first time. EVER! And to make matters worst, I just had a screw up last week. CRYYYYYYY! Boss, please be kind to me. I will try to be better. Its a learning process for me. Please please don't pull back your decision to give me a raise. If you haven't decide on that, please do so. I think you should. Hehehehe.

Here's some pics from OGA Exhibitors' Nite

And Najah! We spent some time at OGA.
Now both work for different companies and definitely happier =)

I think I am ready to talk about a few things I've kept hidden from people. See, I'm not the sort who keeps things from people I'm close to. I'm not secretive, but I'm not exactly a blurter too. I like to share myself to people so that in return they will open up and share themselves too. Its not to make myself vulnerable but to narrow the existing gap.

Back in 2010 after diploma ended, my parents and I planned to send me to New Zealand for my degree. I've always wanted to go back to New Zealand and coming back as a student will be a great opportunity. But after consultation, we agreed that NZ is not the best option. So we applied to Monash and UniSA in Australia instead. The former in Gippsland near Melbourne and the latter in Adelaide. (I had to check my offer letter because I forgot where I was offered. FAIL!) And I got accepted to both! Alhamdulillah.

After credit exemptions from my diploma, Monash offered me 1.5 years of studies for Bachelor of Arts (Professional Communication) with annual fees of AUD 21,000. While UniSA offered 2 years for their Bachelor of Arts (Communication and Media) programme with annual fee of ...... Since Monash is better ranked, we opted to go to Monash.

Money doesn't come easy for us. Because of that, I applied for the intake in February 2011 instead of going for the July 2010 intake (I graduated diploma on May 2010). We thought that we can buy time and try getting scholarships or study loan to fund my studies. Lets face it, the fees is already expensive as it is. And currently AUD $1 is equivalent to RM3.50, which made it even more expensive. Furthermore, there's not many organization that's willing to give out scholarships for programmes abroad. What more in the Communication field. Eventhough the source is limited, I did try. We tried. I applied for Maxis, Khazanah and MAHB. I didn't get the chance to apply from Astro though because it was not open. Still is not open.

My offer expires on 31st May. Its already 9th May. And I didn't get any good feedbacks. So I guess this is it. Surprisingly for something I really wanted for the past 1 year, I'm not crushed. I don't feel sad at all. Im feeling alright. I know there must be something that Allah has replace it with. I got a good guess of what those things are, but I'm not sure if my guesses is right. But where I am right now, I feel that my guesses is right. They give me the right feeling, right vibes, they're just right.

I told Mama and Kak Ngah, if I am able to go to Australia for my degree then my studies shall stop at that level. I'll focus on work and building a family next. But if the opportunity is not there, then I'll try it again at Masters level. I guess Allah wants me to work harder, to try harder. And so shall it be.

There's a lot of family members who are rooting for me to fly off. So many of them who share my happiness when the chance arises, so many who were proud with the news, so many who put hopes on me. I regret that all that can no longer be expectations of any. But I'm so glad that I'll be around. I will be here for gatherings, for Hari Raya, for family days, for birthdays, for weekends in Semenyih with Toto and Neni, for Feed Me Weekends with cousins who mostly are marrying off. For weddings, for Adik, for Abah and Mama, for makan-makan, for Ramadhan in Malaysia, and for people who want me around. I'm thankful that I can and will be able to join in. Not just see it get updated on Twitter or FB.

As for my other family, my friends... I'll still be around. USM was actually my Plan B. A place I will fall back to if the OZ plan did not fall through. So now, USM is my only plan. And I only have a year left there so I shall persevere the heat and the stress! The only 3 person I actually told about leaving for Australia was Yonkey, Tangsue, and Lii Jing. Yonkey seems fine with it. As for Tangsue and Lii Jing, they both got teary-eyed. And I was too. Because I didn't expect them to care for me THAT much. And because I am emotional. Seriously, I cry almost everyday from watching TV adverts, scenes from reality shows, and from reading. Parah weh!

Anyway! Penang is different after a year being there. I use to say I like the place, but hated the people there. I wanted to leave, I really hated it! But Alhamdulillah, I finally found people I am at ease with. Friends I greatly appreciate for being there for me, for sharing, for putting up with me, for trying to understand me, for adapting to me. Thank you Yonkey, Tangsue, Grobe, Diamond, Mini, Lii Jing, Kimi, KIKI, Mas, Awek, Cip, Syafiq, Pumpum, Ciara, Muncheekins, Ain and Fly. Oh! And Dr. Shu and Dr. Zailan and Dr. Hazlina. For giving me hope that not all lecturers are uptight and old fashion. InsyaAllah I will not have to go through what nearly killed my faith on friendship in Unisel. I have high hopes for my 'race-less' friends. =)

Wanting to go to Australia was a really big deal. But I didn't set high hopes. I taught myself not to expect to much. In love and in life. Being a realist, I take into consideration of everything. Such as the RM 16k I owe PTPTN, the nearly RM 100k needed for 2 years there (that we can't afford), my grandaunts and granduncles yang dah tak sihat sangat dah, my expanding family that I don't want to miss out on, and other things yang tak perlu mention. The point is, I need to be here. No matter how much I want to be in Australia, its not written for me. Not right now. And yes, I want to be here.

Of late, I ajar diri sendiri untuk see the outcome of something as positive either way. I may not get what I want, but I make sure I am grateful of the outcome. Jangan expect, jangan berharap, bila kita tak beria-ria kita tak sakit. Dan kita bersyukur dengan apa-apa yang jadi.
Macam dengan he-who-I-really-liked-but-can't-seem-to-attract, tak menjadi. Tak apa, Alhamdulillah. Mungkin bukan dia.
Macam dengan dia-yang seperti-boleh-tapi-rupanya-tidak. Tak apa, Alhamdulillah. Memang bukan dia.
Macam dengan Z yang chipsmore, Tak apa. Belum rezeki. Ehe! (Apasal kau lain sikit?)

Dan khas buat seorang yang sebenarnya memang tak benarkan saya pergi,
Toto, I'm staying.

I am done with 3 papers! 2 more to go. Next paper gap seminggu. Wuuu-huuuuu-huuuuuu (I pun tak sure bunyi dia macam mana, but its a happy yelp!). And no, I'm not gonna talk about any of the papers I've had.

I can't remember how I was we were, Geng Gitar Lapok, during exam season. I remember late nights going to the boys' place at Akademi Tingkat 10 or them coming over to Timah to study. Or sometimes its just us girls dalam master bedroom beramai-ramai, atas tilam dikelilingi helaian kertas trying to jam our brains with one whole semester's work. Last minute study, biasalah tu!

My final sem for diploma, I was at Mally G. Memory of studying for exams...hmmm... I'm sure it involves a lot of sleeping. Because I can only remember Ya making a fuss at me saying I sleep too much and don't study enough. Dulu boleh lah buat camtu. Perangai selekeh tapi score jugak. Kat sini? Toksah dok harap!

Habit students kat sini, dengan segementasi dikecilkan kepada student Communication, adalah TIDUR secukupnya selepas habis paper. Sepanjang sem, asal buka FB for sure macam-macam update lah masing-masing tu. Cuba time exam. Sebelum exam dah tentu-tentu senyap je sebab semua try nak pulun last minute study. Esok tu, lepas habis paper pun senyap jugak. Semua ganti tidur.

I? I always find time to sleep. The only thing I will not change during exam season is to make sure I sleep well before my paper. Untuk mengelakkan terlajak tidur pada pagi exam, dan tertidur tak bangun langsung semasa exam.

Okay dah! I need my Weeds now! Interval exam kot! Mestilah ada masa untuk Weeds!
Result exam baru keluar!

First semester of degree.
7 subjects.
20 credit hour.
2 research projects.
And a really lousy CGPA.

Baby are you down down down down down?

YES I AM!
Hi!!!!!!!! Shoutout to Ana and Yan, I know you are always here.

Okay, since the last 2 to 3 weeks they've been too many things that happen. I have to start with the subjects I'm taking. Strike out everything you've read before. I had major changes up till 19th, the last day they allow us to add/drop subjects for free. I am now taking:

University courses: TITAS, English, Critical Thinking;
Major courses: Communication Technology, Advertising, Campaign Communication;
Minor courses: Philosophy

At first I wanted to minor in Sociology and Anthropology but too many people went for that class and I dont feel special. I have this egoistic need to stand out, therefore I opted for Philosophy. When I first read the courses I will have to take under Philosophy minor I thought to myself, "I can do this!" But everyone were quiet negative about it. They all dropped the course after one class and told me it is a hard subject. I admit, I took it to prove them wrong and to find out myself if it is really that hard. After one class,

I FREAKIN LOVE PHILOSOPHY!

In Buddhism, one goes through liberation until they reach Nirvana or the perfect peace of the state of mind. Enlightenment. That is what Philosophy is to me. After each lesson, I swear, I feel enlightened. Its like a burden was lifted of my shoulders. Philosophy is my de-stressing method. I get to learn, to discover, to share my views, I love it. My classmate, Lii Jing and I, we both feel the same way. We feel happy after every class we attend. I think if we are able to pass with an A for Philosophy, then we have achieved Nirvana. Or we might lose our head in the process.

Next, my PIMPIN Siswa Camp at Cahaya Alam Kelimat, Sungai Siput Perak. My group consist of 116 'kekuatan' from School of Comm, Pharmacy, Math, Social Science and Mechanical Engineering. We broke the record for the most people to passed out during first kawad and pengucapan. 26 of them! Terbaek! There was this 1 guy who squat all of the sudden during kawad sedia. And then he quickly stand up straight. The faci was concern, so they asked him if he was fine? His answer made us stifle our laughter. "Saya tak nampak apa-apa! Saya hanya nampak bayang!"

Okay jahat. Tapi kelakar. Because other people fainted, passed out, wanted to puke. He was the only one who had the temporary blindness as his symptom.

The camp sucked. Sungai teh susu. But the activities were awesome! Survival cooking challenge was the hardest. We had to slaughter a chicken for our lunch, cook rice and a vege dish, on a bonfire. Damn that was hard! I literally cried when fanning the fire so that it will not die down. And I cried again that evening during group discussion. We were given a picture of a man breast feeding a baby using the a bra install with a feeding bottle and nipple.

We were suppose to give our thoughts based on the picture and set a theme for it. Later that night we are to perform according to the chosen theme. Seriously, for smart people...they are pretty stupid. Its so depressing. I was so pissed that I cant get them to interact or share ideas that I burst into tears. Emotional much? It wasn't a big drama lah. I went quietly to a corner, covered myself with a towel and cried during presentations from other groups. Heh!

Last week was the attract-all-the-students-you-can-get-week. Everyday at the library foyer the student organisations opened booth to get new students to sign up. Due to boredom and the super-ego (naik tahap dah ni) need to stand out and get noticed, I am now member of 5 clubs. As a student under School of Communication, I call it SoComm, I am automatically a member of PERKOM. I volunteered myself for Buddies. And have joined Sociology and Anthropology Club, AISEC and also the Debate Club. Tamak tak? Whatevs! I'm bored and I want to get to know people. take all the chances I can get.

Last weekend I went back to KL via Firefly on Thursday night and spent whole day Friday at Shah Alam. Namely UNISEL. Went there to get my final semester's result, apply for my academic transcript and was robbed blind in between. I know I have to pay RM250 for convocation fee. But they told me that we (the whole of FCM students) have to pay RM150 for our Effective Speaking subject which they charged wrongly. Who's fault is it now? And another RM45 for credit exemption of my BM subject. Therefore, instead of RM250 I had to pay Rm445! I nearly didn't get to pick up my passport. That was another RM300. Seriously, I don't know how I managed to pay all that within a day.

And now, I am back in CG. Closer to him (eh terkeluar pulak!). Eating the lauk I'm starting to get bored with from the downstairs cafe. Walking everyday to class. Sleeping every free time I can find. Wanting to go to Queensbay Mall but still remain stuck inside USM. Nightly discussions at Fajar Harapan which I have to walk to. Him accompanying me to Fajar so that I don't have to walk alone (eh terkeluar lagi?). Tutorial classes starting this week which consume more of my free time. 1 class with him because he's a third year and then balik CG sama-sama (haaa!). Credit transfer business still undone. 2 presentations due next week. Reading materials tak habis baca jugak lagi. Pergi tengok teater monolog last night dengan CG, CM and him. And so many interaction dates and events to look forward to!

No wonder lah tak balik sampai September.

By the way, semua kejadian adalah benar. Kecuali all those phrases about 'him' in the last paragraph. He is not in existence yet. Cepat lah exist wey! Mama dah pesan suruh cari boyfriend dah ni!
Sebelum I masuk melodramatic mode malam ni sebab aktiviti malam adalah bersendiri dan ditemani kesunyian, ecewah! I want to introduce you people to Cassie and Mas. The only 2 people I can instantly get along with. Because both of them speak my language, and are in the same wavelenght as I am. Plus, all 3 of us love to laugh. Benda kecik pun jadi lawak takleh cover.

Cassandra Gail Pasqual is not a Malay girl. She's of Serani and Chinese parentage. The first time I talked to her I asked her if she is Chinese or Malay, and she said..Eurasian. Perasan lebih kan kau? She's from Seberang Prai, Pulau Pinang and is taking the same course as I am.

I approached her after the third day Im in USM because of her pleasant face and she is always smiling. She also look a lot like Ochie, my Indonesian friend. We started got close to each other one night during one of the boring taklimat. I think it was the integrity forum in which 2 professors on stage, image projected on the LCD, went crazy cleaning their ears like nobody's business. Of course Cassie and I started laughing and couldn't stop ourselves. She was sitting in front of me and we entertained ourselves by texting to each other. That is how we came to be! May I add that Cassie have the funniest mum ever! She cracks joke all the time.

Cik Masz, nama komersialnya. Originally from Ipoh and have been studying in Kuantan for 3 years for her diploma before coming to USM. I never noticed her during orientation. Jujur ye Mas. But this one night we sat together during CG activity and had her laughing with me throughout the activity. And then had her at the same table for CG's dinner. Hah! That night, the guy who read the doa was the type yang pitching lari. Apa lagi, memang tahan gelak lah Mas and I. Since then, I know she's someone I can look for to have a good laugh, and pick rambutan with. Hihi.

And then there were 3.

Combination of Cassie, Mas and I is so not good. We are the first to laugh, the loudest, the hardest and we can't be stopped. I senang berkawan dengan korang. Thank you for being here =)

Kurang sikit homesick aku.

For the other news, I've managed to transfer my credit hours of some subjects I've taken in UNISEL and may now skip to second year! But for this first semester, I am going to take mostly the wajib (compulsory/forced) university subjects and elective papers.

Up till today, my papers are:

Bahasa Inggeris Akademik LSP 300 - for MUET Band 4 students
Pengantar Antropologi dan Sosiologi - Introduction to Anthropology and Sociology
Pengantar Bahasa Inggeris - Introduction to English Language (to be change to Pengantar Falsafah/Introduction to Philosophy)
Tamadun Islam dan Tamadun Asas (TITAS) - Basic and Islamic Civilization (University Course)
Pemikiran Kritis - Critical Thinking (University Course)

Tomorrow, I shall add in:

Bahasa Melayu Akademik LKM 300 - for all Malaysian citizen with credit in BM (University Course)
Either Bahasa Perancis or Bahasa Korea.

Total of credit hour/unit: 20

Why no Communication subjects?
Because I transfered my result for Mass Communication and Human Communication from UNISEL. And the next subject in line I am suppose to take is not offered this semester.

Okay, that's what I am suppose to be doing but here I am - updating Serendipity (while listening to Hindi songs). Nak buat cemana kan? PC sebelah ironing board. Banyak okay baju nak kena kemas. I tak tahu nak bawak apa dan ultra malas sebenarnya. Dahlah ada lagi barang-barang belum beli. Kaki dah lunyai dah sebab minggu ni practically everyday keluar cari barang-barang, or went out with the various dearly beloveds.

The weekly schedule I wrote earlier seems to go according to plan. Except that I didn't get to spend any time with Milly. Its okay, she will be back soon. Its in her nature =P But i did managed to go back to Shah Alam to see Kak Nora, Miss Ad and Cwoo. Plus Ayaq and even experience Ya's driving.

So how do I feel?
I feel blessed. Why?
  • All the things I bought for uni was sponsored by many family members.
  • My school friends made time to go out with me.
  • Despite not seeing each other for years, were not from the same class or cliques, we all can get along perfectly.
  • A very simple visit for Suhaila at Maxmara turned into a wholesome laughing session.
  • I got gifts from people I dont expect. Really dont expect it. Thank you so so much!
On the other hand,

I have never not have Ya by my side. Metaphorically and literally. We've been in the same school/campus/environment since we were born. This will be new.

Leaving the family? Yang itu boleh handle.

Starting of at UNISEL was easy. I immediately felt superior when I started. My confidence level was higher than my height. USM? I don't know. I'll let you know over the weekend.

I don't know. This is new. I just don't know.
I'll be leaving for Penang in July. I'm registering on July 3rd therefore we will arrive earlier. I'm pretty sure Mama wants to sight see. Might visit some people while we're there too. Now that I have exactly a month to go, I'm planning my days.

June - Week 1
I planned to go back to Semenyih but instead Hani and I have few things we need to sort. Which includes her UiTM requirements for a chest xray , buying panties, attending a theater and scouting for some cloth. On Thursday, I have a movie date, Lagenda Budak Setan + mini reunion with some of my ex-schoolmates. Lagipun Ahad ni ada 2 weddings to attend, clashing. Thus, decided to postpone it to next week. In time with the school holidays therefore Monkids will be around!

June - Week 2
Its the school holidays! The Harvard entourage will be back and Ayah Sham is plannning to move it to their new home this week. So I'm gonna split the week with helping out with the move and going back to Semenyih. Can't wait!

June - Week 3 aka The Nana Week
Nana will be back by now. And she have booked me to sleepover house which I will definitely not argue. I'll be spending time with her mostly and maybe slot in time with other bffs, Lya /Ju/ Siblings/Mally G/Andre & Punat/Cwoo. Too bad Emon and Jaja is not around this week. Emon is on Umrah while Jaja is going to be in Jakarta.

June - Week 4 aka The Soulmate Week
I'll be away for favourite girlfriends, my hideout will be in Ampang and its the week Hani will register at UiTM Perak. Im going to miss my partner-in-crime for the past month. Sapa nak drive me around for the week before Penang? Sure Fa nak run errands, beli barang nanti! Ya, cepat dapat lesen please! Kak Nora, schedule kasi clear sikit ye?

June - Week 5 aka The Goodbye Week
Actually, its not even a week. 5 days tops. Im sure we'll go to Penang earlier than 2nd. This week will be for the family and extra special people. So I guess, I'll be back in Shah Alam for another day. And also final shopping spree perhaps? ;)

July - The orientation week that last for 9 days.
Can you believe it? 9 days! Lama tuuuuu. Siap ada hiking. Im eager to star anew. Wish me luck!

* * * * * * * * *

Oh oh! Tadi pergi Aeon AU2 and saw Jusco selling purple pails of many sizes, baskets, dustbins, laundry baskets and I went delirious for a second. Automatically, I made a mental list of purple things I 'must' buy. Hangers, small basket, pails, laundry basket, ngeeeeeeeeeeeeee excited! Dah macam Sutun versi purple.

Alhamdullilah!!!

They notified me through message earlier at noon while I was in the cinema trying to watch Nightmare on Elm Street. Of course I can't focus on the movie and can't stop smiling. Thank you for your prayers!!!
No, not Armageddon. It won't happen when you expect it to. So 2012? Im striking that out. From the Quran, Allah said the end of the world is not known to us. There's no way we can anticipate or be prepared for it than through our prayers to Him,

Hmm. Too dramatic intro.

Im leaving college and the life I have been in for the past 3 years. The life I wanted so much circa 2006-2007. And the life I wanted to be out from circa November 2008 until now. I'm finally leaving it. Its ending! Im ready for a new adventure!

How do I feel now that I am finally leaving college?
Never better!

Will I not miss anything?
Maybe the cheap CC in front of campus, Puan Azian, and Miss Ad. Puan Gina too eventhough she left before I did.

What's next in plan?
Short term: USM, Penang =)
Long term: Monash or UniSA, Australia =D
Longer term: KRU Studios
I just finished my second paper, last for the week. Im glad that (at least I think) I did well for the Comm Theory exam. What more with the whole drama of me misplacing my text book. The funny thing was I didnt panic at all. I was a bit worried but didn't panic. Its either Im too mellow, or too confident. Maybe Im mellow because Im confident I can find it.

At the final hour, nearly 10pm last night, Eikha found it at Mally G. AFTER I arrived there. Maybe the book needs my presence because they've look for it earlier in the week to no avail. In my attempt to study without the book, I went to DBP's Pusat Dokumentasi Melayu but only managed to find novels. Therefore, I read them novels. 2 Malay novels actually. Hehehe refuel my need for love stories. To believe that they still exists.

By the time I went home at 6pm yesterday, I still have no idea where my book is or have an ounce of education for the exam. And yet, I watch Adamaya. Its the hype man! Easy to follow storyline, great actors making the character alive, funny and annoying at the same time. The most famous of them will definitely be Mia Sara who plays Amani. Hands down, she wins the vote.

And then, there was Z. I received a text from him yesterday. Im not quite sure if he meant it for me or another person. But every 3 days I'll hear from him. Just recently. I'm confused! Is he being a friend or is there something else going on? Seriously, I don't want to be the person he comes to when he has a relationship problem. I don't even know if he still has a girlfriend or not. And I don't want to know anything about her. What I don't know about them is better. Or else, I'll be a stalker (according to Ya).

How do I get over you? If you keep coming back.
I applied for local degree programs already. The intake will be in July. For some places, we need to attend interviews to gain admittance. I didnt get the interview for UiTM but got the USM interview. It was set on 24th April (tadi) at SMK Kiaramas, Persiaran Dutamas. Jadi, pergilah saya ke interview itu. Or so I thought.

Anyways, biar saya ceritakan!

I semangat pakai baju kurung, make up, make sure I look presentable because I thought it was an interview. When I got there I tengok semua orang pegang paper. I thought we have to register. Turns out it was a slip yang ada our angka giliran and stuff. And I did not print mine!!!! Pulak tu, it was a test. Bukannya interview.

Nasib baik I was allowed in and found my table based on my IC. I ingat kena tulis essay kan so cam nervous2 tapi I rasa okay lah, boleh goreng je ayat nanti. Sekali I tengok its questionnaire yang kene hitamkan jawapan pakai pensel 2B. I mana ada pensel kot! So pinjamlah orang sebelah punya. Nasib baik dia ada extra and tak lokek nak bagi pinjam. Thank you and good luck girl next to me! I taktau nama dia okay!

Gila unprepared kan? Aish. Macam memain betul. Thank God it was Yes/No questions. Macam personality plus career test. So I think I did well. InsyaAllah.

The best part was, dewan tu pakai kipas. And the fan yg dekat dgn I static. I tak dapat angin la kan. So I raised up my hand to invigilator, mintak getah. He was like getah? Awak nak buat apa? I cakap lah nak ikat rambut sebab panas. Dia gelak and came back with getah yang ikat stack of papers yang tebal tu and getah nasi lemak oren tu. Siap bagi option, awak nak yang mana? Bapak perli!

Oh. One of the Yes/No question was adakah anda suka berkawan dengan orang berstatus tinggi? Hello! Dengan bahagianya I jawab Yes.

Last week was hell of a week. Its back to back roaring 'discussions' with the lecturer, the classmates, the groupmates and even unwanted discussion with the first semester degree students.

Monday, after event management class we all decided to discuss and finalize what we should do for our event management project. That was when it all happened. The shouting, the accusations, the mocking, you name it, it all happened there and then. It wasn't fair for some, but almost everyone was consumed by hopelessness and anger. It cant be avoided. Thank God, at the end of the day everybody kissed and made up. Not literally.

It was the same day that Puan Gina were to fly off to Adelaide. We are sorry that none of us came to send you off Puan. And I promised to write a blog post for you. This is not it. My blog is simply to ugly or me to write things on. I'll tweak it first and then write some more. Hope you are doing fine there.

So on Tuesday was our Student Project & Evaluation Proposal Presentation. Let me just get 1 simple thing out first. Never in my life have I met more unethical and unprofessional organizers such as those who were our organizers. I think my juniors in school would make better preparation than them. Okay, I admit my classmates and I aren't exactly great too in cooperating with you guys. But hey, please realized that its not your place to judge if we are not committed with our work and it is so rude for you to bomb us with your accusations questions before the programme starts.

And what was that that we heard? Korang degree students? Kitorang patut rasa apa yang korang buat?

I shut my mouth while all those are being said because I don't want to make things bigger. My classmates are at boiling point already and if I said but 1 word I'm sure the arguments wont stop. Thank us that we don't retaliate. Keep yourself grounded for the second presentation because honey, its not just us. Our juniors, your 'juniors' find you people annoying too. Especially Miss M.C. You set very good first impression to them. We don't have to talk bad about you because you showed it yourself.

Oh yeah, last year we handled 3 classes. That's around 30 groups of students, 3 sessions, 2 days and 7 lecturers. And yeah, no body complained.

So, what does it all got to do with visual literacy? My blog template is ugly. I don't want to write on it. What more for people to come and read it.

Well, we judge based on what we see. Faham-faham kan lah.
Lethargic:
Dah nak mati agaknya, asyik penat je. Bangun tidur penat, pergi kelas dah tentu-tentu penat, balik rumah pun penat jugak. Entahlah. Padahal assignments dan kelas belum menimbun lagi. Konon penat, tapi ada hati nak kerja malam-malam after class. InsyaAllah dapat.

Bleak:
Macam dah takde benda yang exciting. Classes are being held in dorm turned classes which I call kelas bodoh. Sebab takde semangat langsung nak study bila masuk bilik tu. Bk 19 n 20 tu bole terima lagi lah. Warna baru, blinds baru, central air conditioner baru, meja best, kerusi best, selesa! Malangnya tak sempat 3 kelas kat situ jadual dah rombak. Dapat balik lecturer 'kesayangan kedua' semua. Aih!

Distress:
Seriously, takde rasa apa2 langsung bila masuk kelas dia. Dahlah 1 subjek research, 4 credit hour. Memang kene strive. Lagi satu subjek event. Which he...entahlah. Thank god Anip's group proposal won the voting. At least I have something to look forward too. Memang support habislah since most of us dah sort of decided with the same theme last semester. Tapi advisor dia, alahai.

Alienation:
I don't like working with him. I seriously don't. This time around tak nak berada di dalam hierarchy tinggi kot. Penatlah. Lagipun dah ada orang yang memang event organiser. Im just going to work for him, make sure i did my part, have a fun successful event and get an A!

Obese:
Rasa nak mengeluh je. Tapi tak elok. Jadi tahankan je lah. Sementara orang lain tengah sibuk2 nak register MUET, im busy being worried about my weight. This is the first time, ever, terasa bila orang tegur dah makin tembam. Usually Im fine with it. Tak kesah pun because masih rasa selesa with my weight and image. Ni dalam gambar pun obvious sangat dah gemuk. Semua sebab balik Semenyih makan sedap2. Hwaaaaa! Pastu start uni orang tegur2 pulak. Hwaaaaaa!

Insecure:
Mungkin senyap dalam kelas tu sebab dah low self esteem kot. Pulak tu sekarang pergi kelas asyik pakai baju kurung je. I feel selekeh in baju kurung because its not made for my body. Was made for me but by Mama's measurements. Therefore they don't feel like me. At all! Ada 2, 3 je yang betul2 selesa. Im a jeans & t-shirt kinda girl plus the occasional vintage dresses. Now with the new rule, my only options are baju kurung or corporate attire. Since I don't own proper corporate attire, baju kurung it is! Which Im not exactly happy about. I miss wearing pants to class! Nak letak tomboy dalam kain hari2, memang lah payah!

Eeeeee semua masalah ni, I blame the heat! Especially for making me sick and tired and comfortable and rasa macam mandi tak basah all the time. Hmph!

Gila rasa cam tak best start of the new semester ni. Hah Mally G, don't get me started! The only thing I can stand about the place are my housemates!
And why wait for new year to start a resolution? Therefore here's why LIST OF THINGS TO DO IN 2010 INSYAALLAH or (LOTTDI2010I).

  • Lose weight, just a bit. Enough to feel like old self. Because Semenyih have been really generous on food and calories and sugar and gluttony.
  • Ace out the final semester. Nak rasa jugak 4 flat.
  • Get accepted to USM or UM if USM rejected you. But not UitM. Never.
  • Get accepted to NZ uni, think about financial later.
  • Renew passport. Come on its RM100 je!
  • Travel or ask placement from AISEC.
  • Go into theater, or try.
  • Meet Remy Ishak up close and personal. Puaskan hati sendiri. (Walaupun bapaku tak approve dia)
  • Find someone to take over Speak Out. Hi Eikha! Sihat?
  • Consult gynae on mestrual situation.
  • Stop having celebrity crushes on Remy, Ashme, Josh, Jihu, James, Jason and Shahrukh. Johnny dengan Jessica takpe lagi.
  • Learn to wear heels and put on make up.
  • Do something about the hair, or else cover it.
  • Smile more. At least it can hide your loath towards some people.
  • Be neutral.
  • Educate stupid people discreetly. They wont admit themselves as stupid.
  • Hold your tongue, temper and truth. It may damage more than fix things.
  • Start going to live shows again. Well I need the break. Not gigs, but something more low-key and relax.
  • Wow, I really have not stepped a toe at gigs since February last year? *Pats on the back* Stay with that resolution.
  • Buy more comfortable shoes. Sneakers Nike kene curik. Fav heels hilang, glads seblah kene gogong anjing. Tragic.
  • Treat Syaniz, Hani and the kids, plus 'siblings' to an eatery.
  • Timah Trip!
  • Graduation trip to Bali!
  • Backpacking trip! Kenapa I xde trust fund macam anak-anak Mr. Sheffield?
Its been hell of a week! I only attended classes on Monday and Wednesday. Tuesday had to lepaskan secara tak rela kelas Multimedia Puan Gina because the appointment with MiSC corporate affair representative was on the same morning. We - Phia, Arie, Cwoo and I went there not expecting much. Maybe just a simple interview. We were surprised that they actually prepared a room for us, made powerpoint slideshow regarding the topic we need (Corporate Comm dept, CSR and internal programmes), projected and presented it as if we are investors for their company and gave us goody bags to bring home! Damn they're good! They really take care of the company's image.

I was almost in love with the presenter. Cik Hanim Hamid is young and yet she's the Group Corporate Affair Manager. She controls one of the division which handles MiSC and its 8 subsidiaries. I was in awe when she started speaking. Fluent English with articulate diction. And I absolutely love the fact that she can pull off a pixie cut do eventhough she is chubby. Her presentation was perfect. I didn't get to ask much question because she will answer it while presenting or I asked it ahead of time before she got to the topic. It was indeed well prepared.

Learning about MiSC surprises me, didn't expect a shipping ad vessel company to conduct CSR programs. And they do it many times annually. Its actually handled by the departments individually rather than 1 program per company. But they do have 1 main program - Navigate Your Career (NYC). It is targeted for both university students and school students but with different objective. For university students they are offering help in soft skills such as preparing for interview, polishing presentation and speaking skills as well as teamwork. reviews shown that a lot of them who joined the event made tremendous changes. 1 particular FELDA boy who was very shy was grabbed by Bank Negara even before MiSC got hold of him upon graduation. That's how great the programme was. Of course I wanted in! As for school students, the objective is more on promoting ALAM (Akademi Laut Malaysia) for them. As for this one, Arie wants in.

We forgot to take pictures with her but we got nearly 2 hours of video footage. I can't show you that, its too boring. Who would want to see it. Kesian Arie lenguh-lenguh tangan record video. And Cwoo tak habis-habis mengantuk . Going for the interview was definitely worth it. Walaupun parking charges RM8, its worth it. If they prepare breakfast, lagi worth it!

Next!

Thurday and Friday I went to an international conference hosted by UNISEL at Grand Bluewave Hotel. I was among the 4 students who were selected to represent our F-cult to do coverage of the event. Imran and Aking were assigned as photographers while Fiefie and I will be writing about the event. The 2 day programs was FUN! We got to work with people from both Unisel campus. Lets face it, all of us is under the same organization but we didn't know each other existed. That morning, the head MPP - Shafrizal (waaahh tau nama dah!) actually asked which Unisel I was from to give my tags. Sedih kan?

Whilst there, I got to know:
  • the kakak-kakak from finance who we all loveeeee to hate,
  • the very very very soft spoken MPP boys (memang tu requirements jadi MPP ke?),
  • kakak librarian who are actually twins - I never knew that,
  • the who's who of Unisel: Prof Zaidi, Prof Kushairi, Ibu Fonny, Puan Yuslina, etc,
  • educationalist from the South East region and a few other countries,
  • prominent business entrepreneur like Madam Noni Purnowofrom of Silver Bird (an Indonesian taxi service company) and Pak Mustain Sjadzali of PT Citra Panji Manunggal (an Indonesian pipeline company. Fiefie and I have a minor crush on him actually. He's such a gentleman!)
  • the 8 psychologist to be from Unisel BJ - Naz, Vino, Ara, Mizi, Uan, Along, Amy, and Fatihin
  • my current role model: Cik Wan Puspa Melati Wan Abdul Halim, 27 year old beauty with brains, HOD of psychology in Unisel BJ, Oxford grad, was the psychology lecturer at my F-cult and currently pursuing her PhD. Wow! (Just googled her and she's in portal perfileman Malaysia? hihihi)
It was great fun, great exposure and definitely a tiring experience. Oh! May I add there's a few Filipino boys who caught my attention? He was tall and fair and bald very much like Samuel Rizal. Turns out his father was one of the speakers there. The other is his friend who has a mullet haircut but got the long hair braided. And, I got harrased by 2 busboys. Scary kot! Everytime I pass by or look up I 'll catch them looking at me. On the final day Miss Ad actually told them off "tak malu ke kacau anak dara orang?" and they replied "Nak malu buatpe?"

Ewwwwww! Memang taknak lah kan! Of all the people, I mean there's almost 300 delegates and organisers, why you 2?? WHYYYYYY!!!!!
Thank you Puan Azian and Miss Ad for the opportunity. Really appreciate it.

Next in my list SEAchange conference in Putrajaya on 18-21 November. Hwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee accept my invitation if I sent you suggestion or email of it. It will increase my chances on winning the trip. Nak bayar sendiri tak mampu. Its RM3 frikking thousand! Menetes air mata tengok tadi. Literally okay! If I got the chance to go, I'll get to meet Nando Parrado, my hero. He's the ultimate survivor. You've seen the movie ALIVE starring Ethan Hawk? Or know about the plane bringing a rugby troop heading to Chile but crash in Andes mountains? I was about 10 when I watched the movie. This movie shocked me because in order to survive they resorted to cannibalism. They have to eat and there were not other food supplies other than the deceased. I always thought there were only 2 survivors from the accident and I never knew their names. I only remembered 1 character who refused to eat his friends and will always check if they are eating his sister or mother. He is Nando Parrado, one of the 2 who hike the mountains to get help for the 16 who survived. And he, will be speaking at the SEAchange summit.

I cried reading about him, talking about him, watching the movie, and now for the little chance of me seeing him in person. I hope I'm selected for the event. If that didn't happen, Mr. Parrado you always will be my hero.
Maybe you don't read my blog, maybe you do, or maybe - just maybe, someone will pass the news to you. I hereby accept the challenge. I will get coverage on my programme. I will. I'll prove it to you. Where there is will, there is way. Thank you for setting the bar for me, its a stepping stone for myself. Sincerely. If i came through with this, its you I am thankful to. Who knows maybe I'll get a colourful recommendation letter from you? =)
Quick updates:
  • My 'monthly' visitor finally arrives on 19th June 2009. Exactly a year, a month and a week after the last time.
  • Im loving the job at the kindergarten. Kids seems to love me, which is new. Hello, Ifan used to cry just by looking at the back of my head.
  • The other aunties working there are nice people. I like them. Easy to talk to. But my English seems to be following theirs. Not a good sign.
  • Went out yesterday with Ya, Kecik, Bip and Sara all around BB to shop. Then meet up with Wawa, Ajis, Cwoo, Sayoq, Amin and Botak at Urbanattic for the free gig. I hate free gigs by the way. Too many people. Especially budak sekolah. Managed to watch Restraint only. It wasnt as fun as it use to be. No wonder I stopped going to gigs.
  • Flu bug is in the house! Some are speaking like Fran Fine already, with clogged nose. Im starting to have the sandpaper effect in my throat. I guess Im next.
  • From Shah Alam to KL by bus, trains and a lot of walking! Haus tapak glads aku!
  • Esok ada test marketing.
  • Nak pergi Kampung Warisan later. Last day to see Abang Ben's family. Last time to see them before they leave for Boston. He's doing Masters in Harvard. Damn. Harvard.
  • Next time Im free, I'll write about the kids. And post photos too.
So i got the job at the kindie. 2 hours on Monday to Wednesday in between classes. And full day for Thursdays and Fridays.

Job description includes lotsa things I am to malas to list down. But they pay RM5 per hour or RM40 per day. Which is a lot actually! I've met the 2 senior teachers who are both Filipinos. Looking forward to work with them. Aku ni kan sukaa kalau jumpa foreigners nih.

Studies okay lah kot. PPDT is expected to be blah. Tapi Marketing macam best jeh. Lecturer tu ala ala preety boy la kan. So semua students (both girls and guys) seems to like him. Some flirt openly. He's married though. Looking forward for his subject.

Haa cerita rumah! Since its short sem with only 2 subjects to study, classes is only on Monday - Wednesday. Therefore, rakan-rakan serumah akan lesap pada Rabu malam. Bapaaaaaaaakk bosan! Rumah besar yang kesunyian.

Haa camtulah.

Oh, Z.. not gonna happen. Ntah!
Exam pula pukul 9 pagi.

Malangnya, malam itu jugalah nak kena selsema teruk. Bukan hidung sahaja yang berair. Air mata pun meleleh juga. Aih. Memang tak kan dapat belajar apa-apa bila dah macamtu.

Jadi, telan pil selsema dan KO, tidur sampai esok. Pukul 3.30 pagi, paksa diri bangun untuk menelaah sedikit. Dapat masuk sikit pun jadilah. Tak sampai sejam, mata mengantuk semula sebab kesan ubat tak habis lagi. Apa boleh buat, tidur ajalah.

Pagi ni alhamdulillah dapat buat. Sekadar yang termampu. Walaupun exam 3 jam, pukul 10.30 dah keluar dewan.

Aih kawan-kawan, cepatlah habis!
